I'm not sure I want sweetpeas to be "my flower" but I grow them each year because my father did and they appear in wonderful profusion for such a long time they are just 'there' in front of me in the studio before going down to the house.  Visually I find them a painterly challenge due to the intricate and subtle confusion of blooms.

Sometimes silence is too much.  It can let in extraneous thoughts, so the CDs are there (literal and metaphoric 'background') when Radio 3 gets too intrusive and the other choices seem to be only "The Archers" or "Moneybox" or or or...
