This painting was excluded by the Westward Ho! and Bideford Art Society from their summer exhibition this year (2010).  They do not answer letters from members, and choose not to explain or justify their curious decisions.  Another member told me, "They won't hang nudes"; actually they will providing they are frighfully 'tasteful'.  I suspected as much from previous years but, then, this isn't, is it? Nor is Under the blade.
